Welcome to the website of the Glamorgan County Golf Union

The 2025 County Dinner was held at the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff on Friday October 25th. There was a presentation and thanks to Jordan Price-Davies for his three year stint as County Captain. Jordan has worked hard for the County squad and in a twelve year period has played more than 50 times for the team. In the last three years the County Team have won the Channel League and been runner-up twice finishing half a point off the top spot in this year’s Channel League. Our Seniors team can still win this year’s Seniors Channel League with one match to go. They play a winner take all match with Dorset at Swansea Bay on Sunday November 24 and we wish them all the very best.

There were presentations also to Harry Watkins who won the Welsh Open Strokeplay Championship this year at Tenby Golf Club, becoming only the fourth Welshman to do so. The County team and the Seniors team both won their respective Welsh Counties’ Championships. The KO Cup winners were the Vale Resort, the President’s Cup was won by Rhys Carhart and Craig Melding won the Order of Merit. The County Champions were presented with their trophies with Tom Peet the Men’s County Champion and Dean Morris the Seniors Champion. Jeff Thomas won the Seniors Stableford Trophy.

Chairman Mike Evans gave us an entertaining review of the year before Ed Morgan presented the League Shields culminating in the League Championship trophy being presented to Neath Golf Club.

Double Success for Neath Golf Club

Neath Golf Club have won the Premier League for the first time since 2016. In a thrilling end to the season Neath had to go to Aberdare and secure a victory which would give them victory in the Premier League by the narrowest of margins from Whitchurch in second place. Many congratulations to captain Luke Nedza and the Neath team.

Craig Melding scored rounds of 67 and 68 to win the Mountain Ash Bowl by 7 shots from Ian Flower in second place. The 60 Order of Merit points gained  mean that Craig is the 2024 Ramsay and White Glamorgan Order of Merit winner with Rhys Carhart in second place.
