Rhys Carhart wins the President’s Cup

Rhys Carhart won the 2024 President’s Cup Final at a very wet Cardiff Golf Club. Rhys, seen here being congratulated on his victory by Glamorgan President Ed Morgan, beat Ian Flower 2/1 in an all Mountain Ash final.

The day began with Rhys Carhart playing in the semi-final against Tom Peet (Pyle & Kenfig) and a great match ended on the 18th green with Rhys prevailing by one hole. In the other semi-final Ian Flower was awarded a walk-over after the withdrawal of Craig Melding (Neath).

After the Final President Ed Morgan said that considering that the weather was horrendous towards the end the standard of play had been exceptional and it was a pity that someone had to lose.

Congratulations to all the players, thanks to Ed Morgan for officiating and of course many thanks to Cardiff Golf Club for hosting the Finals Day.
